About Me

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Play Therapist with over 20 years of experience.

My career has been dedicated to specializing in child and family therapy, trauma and complex grief, mental health challenges, and developmental difficulties.

I have certified in Synergetic Play Therapy and use this model to guide my practice, finding it to best support the needs of the clients I serve. SPT is a cutting edge model aimed at re-patterning the nervous system and brain to better respond to stressors and distress.

I have also taken extensive training in other therapy models; Filial Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Theraplay Therapy, Sandtray Play Therapy, Somatic Experience and Hykomi, Bruce Perry’s Neuro-Sequential Model, as well as the teachings of Daniel Siegel.

I am trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, an evidenced based and well researched intervention treating trauma and other symptoms of distress.

In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy supervising other trained therapists interested in pursuing their clinical registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers or their certification with the Canadian Association of Play Therapists.

I have a vested interest in my community and region, having been raised on the prairies of Southern Alberta.

It is with deep gratitude to the First Nations people of this land that I have the honor of working with. Flourish PTC acknowledges the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. These include the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations.

Flourish is dedicated to creating a healing space and is committed to receiving the teachings of the elders who guide her.
